The Advanced Coatings Applied Research Laboratory was established in 2001 with funding supports from the HKSAR Innovation and Technology Commission and the industry. It occupies an area of approximately 186 m2 in the Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering Laboratory, City University of Hong Kong. The research and development is focused on surface engineering, hard coating and tribology.
