Dr. Wesley Curtis is an experienced administrator and language educator with a background in the areas of international education, second language acquisition, and distance learning. In service to the academic mission and strategic internationalization objective of City University of Hong Kong, he serves as Head of the Chan Feng Men-ling Chan Shuk-lin Language Centre. The aim of the Centre is to enhance multilingualism and multiculturalism at the university and to equip students to succeed, both in their education and via participation in a fast-changing, globalized society. Having served as the elected Vice President and CFO of the Consortium of University and College Intensive English Programs (UCIEP), Dr. Curtis is a recognized leader in language program administration in higher education.

  • Feb 2020 “Fulbright Specialist (Roster Candidate)” The Fulbright Program. "The Fulbright Specialist Program, part of the larger Fulbright Program, was established in 2001 by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The program pairs highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions abroad to share their expertise, strengthen institutional linkages, hone their skills, gain international experience, and learn about other cultures while building capacity at their overseas host institutions. Specialists, who represent a wide range of professional and academic disciplines, are competitively selected to join the Fulbright Specialist Roster based on their knowledge, skill sets, and ability to make a significant contribution to projects overseas." Duties included P/L responsibility; recruiting international students; serving as a Designated School Official; liaising with stakeholders, including sponsoring agencies, embassies, & NGOs; securing grant funding; maintaining CEA accreditation; supervising English proficiency assessment for all international TAs & graduate students; hiring/supervising personnel; staffing IEP & pathway courses.
