***Important Notice***
In view of the latest pandemic condition, the assessment format of CityU Science Challenges 2021 will switch from face-to-face on CityU campus to the CityU’s online e-Learning platform. Participants should note the below arrangements:
- Area of assessment will be based on the compulsory part of HKDSE curriculum as announced. The date and time for assessments will also remain unchanged.
- Participants will be assigned online accounts to download question papers before the assessment begins and upload answers on answer book after the assessment finishes. Details will be announced in due course.
- Post-assessment result analysis and classification of achievements will continue to be provided. Given the change in format of assessment and the uncertainties ahead, the interview and priority admission arrangement will be suspended for 2021.
- While we strongly encourage students to participate in the assessments as planned, we will also make special arrangement for withdrawal, if necessary, considering the above adjustments. Refund will be made for withdrawal cases.
- Please note that “withdrawal” by a participant represents withdrawal of all his/her enrolled assessments. Withdrawal of an individual subject by a participant cannot be entertained.
Students enrolled on individual-based and teachers will receive emails about the above arrangements. Kindly return your response to csci.office@cityu.edu.hk by 4 Dec 2020. Participants that continue to take the assessments will receive another communication about the online arrangement by mid-Dec 2020. Organized by the College of Science, the CityU Science Challenges is a set of written assessments based on HKDSE curricula designed for Form 6 students. Application can be submitted either on Individual-based or School-based.

Notes:
- The area for assessment is based on the compulsory part of HKDSE curriculum for each subject.
- Participants can choose to take English or Chinese paper.
- Application is on first-come, first-served basis with a quota of 500 for each subject.
- For the assessment on 9 January 2021, 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm, participants can only take one of the three subjects (either Biology, M1 or M2) in the same session.
Opportunities to Participants:
Participants will receive classifications of achievements, namely Distinction, Merit, Satisfactory and Participation based on the assessment results. Participants with Merit or above may be granted admission interview opportunities. Those with good interview performance will be considered for priority admission by Science programmes offered by the College of Science.

Fee Information
- The fee is HK$180 per person for each subject.
- There will be no refund after payment is accepted.
- The College of Science reserves the right of final decision.

- Application is on a first-come, first-served basis with a quota of 500 for each subject.
- Please choose either the individual-based or school-based application.
- An individual student applicant can apply via the individual-based application by filling in the individual application form. After receiving the application details, the College of Science will contact the applicant for fee settlement. For applications on individual-based, all subsequent communications including the dispatch of results and transcripts will be made directly to the individual applicant.
- A school teacher can register for a group of students via the school-based application by filling in the group application form. After receiving the application details, the College of Science will liaise with the school teacher for fee settlement. For applications on school-based, all subsequent communications including the dispatch of results and transcripts will be made to the school teacher.
