Joint Bachelor's Degree Programme with The University of Manchester

About the Programme

The Joint Bachelor's Degree Programme collaborates with the Department of Chemistry at The University of Manchester (UoM) to offer students an international undergraduate experience. UoM is one of the 24 famous Russell Group’s universities in the United Kingdom and has always been at the frontline of chemistry. There have been nine Chemistry Nobel Prize winners at UoM. Many Royal Society of Chemistry medalists are presently on its staff.

UoM’s Chemistry is one of the largest chemistry departments in the United Kingdom. The Department is home to about 680 undergraduate students, 250 research postgraduate students and 120 postdoctoral researchers with a diverse student community. The teaching at UoM is delivered by a mixture of traditional lectures, small group tutorials, laboratory sessions, group works, individual research projects, computer-based tuition and workshops.

Selected students will study at CityUHK for the first two years, and then complete a further two years of study at UoM. On successful completion of the 4th year at UoM, students will be awarded two separate bachelor's degrees: one conferred by CityUHK and one by UoM upon fulfilling the degree requirements stipulated by the respective universities.
