1. Postdoc in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ITS/059/23MS)

(Appointment for 12 months with possibility of extension)

Duties

Conduct research and development on Super-nano Turing catalysts and high-performance anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer for hydrogen production.

Requirements

A PhD degree with strong publication record in materials or/ and mechanical engineering area, and has experience in the following areas: technology development to exfoliate the super-nano- structured metal film and catalysts, is preferred. Applicants without prior relevant publications but with an exceptionally strong record may also apply. 

Applicants should indicate which of the following two tracks: (1) regular track – those with a PhD in a related discipline, or (2) special track – those who graduated from an institution among the top 100 universities for STEM-related subjects in the latest publication of any of the following ranking tables: Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, or Times Higher Education.

??Job Description:

Highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Assistant are invited to join Prof. LU Jian’s Group at CityU. The successful candidate will conduct research activities in the field of advanced aerospace materials with superior mechanical properties.

 

??Requirements

1. PH.D. in Material Science/ Mechanics/Engineering or a relevant discipline.

2. Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research in at least one of the following areas: surface strengthening methods, fatigue and wear performances, Finite Element Method, analysis of deformation mechanisms of metallic materials.

3. Applicants from a Top 100  university (QS, THES, US NEWS) or 985, 211-tier, Double First-Class university.

4. Excellent academic writing and verbal communication skills.

Duties

Develop multi-modal spectroscopy (MMS) & biosensor platforms for monitoring CVDs spectroscopy (MMS) & biosensor platforms for monitoring CVDs.

Requirements

We are looking for passionate and talented PhD graduates with strong academic backgrounds in the areas of electrochemical aspect of the sample preparation and optimization towards large-scale fabrication for health care application of Surface Enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). The expertise in physical chemistry, chemical engineering will be particularly preferred. The other requirements include project management, product design and presentation proficiency, which will be essential for future success in both the academic and industrial environments.

Salary and Conditions of Service

The contract will be 3 years. Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and expertise. Fringe benefits include leave and medical and consultations.
