Programme Leader

Students admitted to the normative 4-year degree will be allocated a specific major programme offered by the department after one year of study. 

Major option:
BA Media and Communication (BAMDCM)
BA Digital Television and Broadcasting (BATVB)

Phase One Major Allocation (top 40%)

For students admitted in Semester A, the top 40% of students will have a free choice of majors offered by the Department according to the following criteria:

1. Cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the end of Semester B;
2. No failed grades in any courses in Semesters A and B; and
3. Completion of at least 30 credit units in Semesters A and B, including the number of credit units specified by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Science/Department of Media and Communication for the required courses as presented in the table below:

Phase Two Major Allocation (remaining 60%)

The other 60% of students will be allocated a major of their choice, subject to the availability of places and the following selection criteria.
