President-designate named CAE Foreign Member
Professor Way Kuo, CityU's President-designate, was elected a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). Professor Kuo is one of the three Foreign Members on CAE's 2007 new members' list announced on 29 December 2007. The election recognises Professor Kuo's contribution to the field of reliability design for microelectronics products and system, according to President Xu Kuangdi of CAE. CAE, established in 1994, is the most prestigious and authoritative advisory institution in China's engineering science and technology fields. A membership in the CAE is the highest academic title in engineering science and technology in China. CAE elects new members every two years. Currently, CAE has a total of 721 members with six from Hong Kong and 34 world-wide Foreign Members.
