The School of Law has signed collaborative agreements with the University of Oxford, UK, to provide opportunities for CityU law students to study at Oxford. CityU also finalised two agreements with the PRC's Supreme Court and National Judges College to provide advanced legal training for serving mainland judges at a ceremony at the Supreme Court of the PRC in Beijing on 29 February. This is the first time the Supreme Court of the PRC and National Judges College have collaborated with an academic institution to provide training for mainland judges at the Master's degree level.

Wellness March up and running
CityU formed a team to participate in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon on 17 February, which marked the start of Wellness March 2008. CityU organises the programme from February to April every year. To promote healthy living, a series of physical activities, competitions, assessments, music performances, workshops and outdoor pursuits, plus free use of the CityU sports facilities, are provided throughout the period.

City Literary Awards
The City Literary Awards have received an overwhelming response and the organising committee has announced that the contribution deadline will be postponed to 10 March. All winning entries of last year's awards have been published in a book, Listening to the Note of the City, which will be distributed on campus.

Sporting success
The CityU fencing, taekwondo and woodball teams achieved impressive results in the inter-collegiate competition organised by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China. The women's taekwondo and woodball teams and the men's fencing squad were crowned champions. A second place by the men's woodball team also contributed to CityU's winning of the overall title in that event. The fencing and taekwondo teams both took second place overall.
