Chinese Paper Cutting
Chinese paper-cutting art is characterized by its intricate designs and the creative use of the relationship between positive and negative space. Chinese people like to cut out patterns to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Red is the most common color adopted as it represents good luck and prosperity. The cut-outs can be used to decorate walls, mirrors, windows, and doors.
In 2009, Chinese paper-cuts were added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
This 2-session workshop is going to be held on both 16 and 18 January 2023.
