Showcase of Geneva IEIG 2025 Award Winning Teams at HK Tech 300 Expo

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) held the HK Tech 300 Expo on 23–24 May 2025 at the University campus. On the morning of 24 May (sat), we were honoured to have invited 12 award-winning teams of the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva (IEIG) to present their outstanding innovations - Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury and the Gold Medal teams.

This event brought together emerging talents, visionary entrepreneurs, industry leaders, co-investors, and local and international partners, highlighting Hong Kong’s role in driving a transformation in global knowledge.

Beyond the 12 presenting teams, all the other winning teams (total 31) from this year’s IEIG exhibited their technologies at the expo, demonstrating the strength of CityUHK’s innovation ecosystem.

Novel Zinc(II) phthalocyanines with NO-releasing moieties for advanced photodynamic therapy (PDT) targeting hypoxic tumours. These photosensitizers suppress mitochondrial respiration, preserve intracellular oxygen, and enhance PDT efficacy.
