City University of Hong Kong (CityU) Department of Marketing students initiated and co-organised the “Exhibition on World Expo 2010 Shanghai China” together with Hok Yau Club, China Daily (Hong Kong), New Youth Forum and others. The Opening Ceremony held on 16 March at CityU kick-started a series of events including talks, a writing competition and an exhibition tour that will cover eight higher education institutions from March to June.

The expo provides an opportunity for university members and the community to learn more about Shanghai Expo 2010 and contributes to a sense of belonging among local youths to mainland China.

Some Shanghai World Expo study tours are also in the pipeline. The organising committee wishes to encourage youngsters to establish lifelong goals from an early age, be ready to grasp the potential opportunities presented by a fast-growing China, and to contribute to the sustainable development of society in the long run.
