The magic of microfluidics

 

Professor David Weitz, Director of the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center at Harvard University, delivered the latest installment in the City University of Hong Kong Distinguished Lecture Series on 21 March. 

In the lecture titled “Dripping, jetting, drops and wetting: The magic of microfluidics”, Professor Weitz explained that drops generated from microfluidics created new materials that can be used to explore fundamental properties of systems biology, and to be used for new kinds of diagnostic instrumentation.

Professor Weitz, Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics and Applied Physics at Harvard, is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
