CityU’s Project-based Outreach Programme inspires creativity

Local secondary school students had the perfect opportunity to show off their creativity when they took part in the Project-based Outreach Programme which was organized by the Faculty of Science and Engineering at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) this summer.

A total of 83 students from 12 secondary schools working in 16 teams conducted a series of science experiments under the watchful eye of CityU students who were acting as mentors. The participating students used their knowledge of the sciences to create projects that can improve our lives.

These projects include shoes that can generate electricity for mobile electronic products, robots that play football, an analysis of the minerals in mineral water and an exploration of low-cost renewable energy.
